Fares, opening hours, bus routes, festival dates and trail conditions change, sometimes at
a day's notice and sometimes without any announcement. Every page shows when it was last
checked, and we go back and check them, but a figure that was right in August can be wrong in
November.
So: treat what you read here as good, dated guidance, and confirm anything your day
depends on with the operator, the temple committee or a local before you travel. Where we are
not certain we give a range and say so.
Historical writing follows the same rule. Where an account comes from the
vamshavali chronicle tradition or from oral history rather than a documented record,
the text says which, and you should read it that way.
Hill walking, road travel and temple visits carry their own risks. You take them on your
own judgement and at your own risk; we describe routes, we do not supervise them.
